Rapper Tupac Shakur Is Gunned Down

A felon serving a life sentence claimed that he shot Tupac two years before he was murdered. Dexter Isaac says that he robbed and shot Shakur in Manhattan after being hired to do so by hip-hop manager James Rosemond. The 1994 shooting set off a  chain of events believed to have resulted in not only in Shakur’s murder two years later, but the murder of rival Christopher Wallace known as ‘Notorious BIG’  a year after that. Wallace’s killing remains unsolved too. During his career, Shakur had become involved in a feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers. He was known to insult his enemies on his tracks. On a trip to Las Vegas to attend a boxing match, Shakur was shot while riding in a car driven by Knight on September 7, 1996. He died six days later on September 13 from his injuries. His killer has never been caught. Since his death, numerous albums of his work have been released selling millions of copies.
